When I am playing my best tennis - I know that I’m much more in my body and much less in my head.
But sometimes - due to internal or external forces - I’m very heady - with thoughts bouncing around.
Instead of allowing this to derail my game - I now have processes in place to get me back on the court.
Here are some of my techniques: - tap my shoes with my racket and really feel my toes and feet
- take a deep breath in to smell my perfume on my wrist
- snap my rubber bracelet on my wrist to bring me back
- sing a happy song in my head
- do a light calf stretch
The biggest gift I give myself is to stay in the moment in pleasure.
