Lessons from the NET 🎾

We played two mixed 9.0 matches this weekend. It was interesting to note the difference. The first match the opponents were great players but also had humility and sweetness. They enjoyed each other, the match and were graceful and kind.
The second match was very different - the woman made bad line calls, would toss the ball up 4 or 5 times before hitting it and other gamesmanship like laughing when my partner hit the ball in the net on an overhead.

There is a saying in Farsi "Learn your manners from the poorly mannered." Well - I hope one day that I will elevate my game up to the standards of the first opponent - but at least I know I am sweet like her. Now on to practice more on my technique. I have the etiquette down! (BTW the male opponent was awesome and fair)
