Today I had a USTA women's doubles match...it was supposed to start at 10.30am and I was in a rush to get in the car to drive to Palm Desert my for sectionals. There were no courts available so our game was delayed until 11am. And then the kids being loud on the other court. And then everyone wanted to warm up. I could feel my shoulders tightening up and knots in my stomach. And just a few years ago this would have de-railed me.

But now I choose a different experience. I elect to respond in a more gentle, allowing and accepting way.

I was focused and happy and relaxed. All was well.

4 years ago I would have lost the match for us - but today I stayed steady and we won 6-0 6-4. Of course my partner was awesome.

And we made it to sectionals.
